Barry’s Diary - January 2011

11.01.2011

Hello Everybody

I must begin by wishing you all a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year.

Christmas comes and goes so quickly and everything is such a rush and so chaotic. I’m sure that the real meaning of it all and the peace of such a time often passes without the correct recognition. As the poem goes ‘We rarely have time to stop and stare’

Life at Albins is constantly on the move and we begin this coming Wednesday, the building of our new project, a two storey building near our Head Office in SE16, for our International business and manufacturing business. This project is being lead by my son Simon together with Company Director Tom and I’ll keep you updated with photos on its progress as the building evolves.

Looking forward into the New Year, we will be welcoming a new fleet of Daimler cars for the summer.

We have just completed the refurbishment of our mortuary and it is amazing. It is one of the biggest, cleanest and most sophisticated I have ever seen. Just what our families have come to expect and deserve.

We continue our work with the repatriation of fallen soldiers, already for this New Year having returned with two. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families as ever.

On a personal note I am very concerned about the future of King’s Stairs Gardens in SE16 and will be making a statement in the press and on a separate diary web page concerning my thoughts. This really cannot happen in such a beautiful and confined space.

We are all eagerly awaiting the birth of Jon’s fourth child, my eighth grandchild sometime in the next three weeks as the dynasty grows.

At the beginning of the new year I would like to take the opportunity of thanking all the families that trusted us throughout 2010 with the care of those they have lost – Ladies and gentlemen it is an absolute honour in each and every case.

So from myself, my family and the staff of Albins, until next month may God bless you all.
