Barry's News Page
Over the
last few years, we have been honoured to care for soldiers that have
lost their lives in conflict abroad. We have been to Iraq,
Afghanistan, Kosovo and The Falklands to mention a few places.

Just
recently we undertook a Royal Ceremonial service for the ten
servicemen killed when a Hercules crashed in Iraq. It was a great
honour and a great responsibility. This all took place in the presence
of HRH Princess Anne, members of the Government, other dignitaries and
most importantly the families of the servicemen. It was a very moving
service and as we left RAF Lyneham with ten matching hearses, courtesy
of Dignity, the thousands of people that lined the streets of Lyneham
paid a very moving tribute to those young men. Something I will always
remember with pride and sadness.

We are
looking forward to our new hand-made fleet of cars which should be
joining us in early June - we will post pictures when available.
I have been
a little under the weather recently having suffered a bout of kidney
stones - very unpleasant. But I'm on the mend and looking forward to
the summer.
At
Christmas we were able to obtain the extra land to extend our Memorial
Garden, which is now a beautiful addition to the existing one. We now
have doves available for people to release on special occasions and we
are just beginning to plan the Christmas Service for this year - More
news when it is available.
All the
staff at Albins are as ever working hard to improve standards and
facilities and level of service, of which we are proud.
Kenny our
mechanic, has had a number of large jobs to do to the limousines
recently, with several heads blowing and each one in rota, coming up
to service. They are in beautiful condition and I'm very proud of
them.
Our two
horses Fred and George are in good spirits and can be seen trotting
around Bermondsey from time to time with our lovely horse-drawn
carriage.
We have
been working through the winter on a new board room which will be
ready in April - something I've always wanted.
As you may
know, I am President of the World Association of Funeral Directors,
FIAT/IFTA and I have been working on a number of projects recently - A
Pass for the Dead, recognition from The World Health Organisation, new
World memberships etc. We will be having a meeting in Barcelona in May
which I shall be attending. I will also be attending a similar meeting
in Chicago in October.
That's all
for now
Best
wishes
