I thought I would include a few photographs that were taken by my son Jonathan of some of the staff and activities at Albins. Excellent photos I feel.

A special photo of my son Jonathan taken with Sven Goren Erikson as he signs a Pre-Need Funeral Arrangement! - (Not really - Jonathan is just collecting his autograph on a boy's day out at Liverpool FC)

We are in the process of making arrangements with Binz, for the completion of the upholstering of our new hearses and limousines, which I have to say, are slightly behind schedule. Alan from Vintage Motors assures me that they should be ready around September time and I am sure that the wait will be worth it. Until then, our beautiful Daimlers will continue to support Albins' fleet.

We have just completed our new board room which is something I have wanted for a long time now and I am very proud of it. We are now able to hold Board Meetings / Pre-Need Meetings etc. and entertain people in comfort and provide house lunches for our guests.

Through our Kenyon Christopher Henley branch, we have had a very busy month again having to go to Iraq to bring home another soldier. Christopher Henley finds himself back only for a short time from Thailand, where he has been working with the Tsunami disaster. He is due to return to Thailand on 9th May to continue his work. He is doing an excellent job under very difficult circumstances.

Those of you who watched the television programme, may remember Fr. Alan McLean. Fr Alan sadly lost his dear Aunt, his mother's sister, after a long illness. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family as they do in earnest to all our families who are bereaved.

It seems that The Mayor has decided to try to help with our problems when using bus lanes and I am hoping for some good news shortly.

Mark, our senior embalmer received his licence and Masters Degree from Dr. Chew of the University of Pittsburgh and David received his Tutor's Degree. I am very proud of both of them - they are wonderful lads and first class embalmers. They both came to Albins as Saturday boys and are now in their early/mid twenties. Many thanks to their families for supporting them during their training.

Mark has just returned from tutoring in Spain where we are assured that International embalming will improve very shortly.

The Annual Remembrance service in our Memorial Garden will be held this year on Wednesday 7th December.  The service has always been popular in the past and we will soon be starting to plan the format for this year’s service.

That's all for now

My best wishes go with you all
