We are pleased to announce the birth of Frankie Lucia Mancini and wish both Greg and Nicola all the very best for the future

I have a little travelling to do during September, October and November as President of the World Association FIAT/IFTA and I will be visiting Oslo, Chicago and Dublin and possibly Italy.

Life is hectic at the moment but as ever, most of my time is spent with funerals in Bermondsey - for me the greatest people in the world.

How quickly the summer is passing - it will soon be time for our autumn uniforms and those cold winter days which in everybody's imagination represent the gloom and sadness of a funeral, but of course funerals take place throughout the year in all weathers - it is just our imagination when thinking of a funeral which reverts to such a time.

I continue my campaign concerning bus lanes and respect for the dead. It would not do any harm if you would all be kind enough to write to the Mayor to support our case. So come on put pen to paper straight away or e-mail Valerie Shawcross on Valerie.Shawcross@london.gov.uk.

Please look out in the next eight weeks for my new book 'Strong Shoulders' which will be my last book in the series. I hope those who buy and read it enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

We have just completed our new coffin range and brochure which I am I believe, correctly proud of.

You may be interested to visit the Pumphouse Educational Museum, Lavender Pond Road, Rotherhithe, London, SE16 5DZ which has an Albins Exhibition together with lots of memorabilia and local history.

One of our Horsedrawn carriages is on display at Albins throughout the week if anyone would like to visit.

Our horses Fred & George are at the moment beginning to shed their summer coats and have been enjoying long summer evenings in their field and lots of natural feed. They are both seven years old now and are being cared for beautifully by Nick.

That's all the news for now.

Best wishes as ever

More news next time.
