Barry's News Page
Hello again,
As I look out of my window I
notice the crocuses poking through the grass and the doves anxiously
cooing and realise that spring is only around the corner. We have just
planted a new Sycamore tree in the Memorial Garden, which stands about
8 ft high by the waterfall. I look forward to all the families that
will visit and bring colour through their floral tributes.
May brings the
arrival of our new fleet of cars and we are all very excited about
that.
This month has
been particularly difficult having again had to repatriate soldiers
lost in conflict in Iraq
It has also been a
month where we have seen the death of some of our old friends, Mrs
Mahoney, Mrs Parish and Mr Glover to mention but a few – all good
Bermondsey people who will be sadly missed.
We are busy
getting our summer uniforms ready and are looking forward to my
Convention of Funeral Directors from all over the world, taking place
at Canary Wharf in June.
We sadly say
goodbye to Mark who has been our primary embalmer for the past 10
years and we wish him well with his move to Lincolnshire with his
family.
We also warmly welcome Emerson De Luca and Rob Rowntree into the fold
and wish Alan well with his new embalming course.
We also welcome our new driver Keith.
Also to remind you
that my new book ‘Strong Shoulders’ is now on sale through good
bookshops, through The Southwark News or here at Albins.
My best wishes to
you all.
