Barry's News Page
We are pleased to
welcome to our Memorial Garden, the introduction of 28 new fish in the
new waterfall pond, along with an artificial heron which I hope will
protect them from predators. Together with our ever growing family of
doves, they will add peace and tranquillity to the garden.
Again I would like
to remind you that the Christmas Memorial Garden service will be held
on 7th December and starts at 7pm. Everyone is welcome and there will
be plenty of seats, refreshments and mince pies as ever.
Whilst writing
this update, I have two people in Iraq caring for the two security
guards that were blown up in an explosion while protecting the staff
in the British Embassy.
Our thoughts and prayers go to their families at this time.
I continue my
campaign concerning bus lanes and respect for the dead. It would not
do any harm if you would all be kind enough to write to the Mayor to
support our case. So come on put pen to paper straight away or e-mail
Valerie Shawcross on
Valerie.Shawcross@london.gov.uk.
We will be taking
delivery next week of our new ambulance - beautifully lined with a
hydraulic lifting system and state of the art equipment.
We have just
placed an order for the first new Daimlers to come on the market for
many, many years. Having shelved our previous vehicle project for
several years, the Daimlers will replace our old ones and we are very
excited. They are due to arrive in May next year and will have all the
usual Albins fittings.
A special hello to Valerie who I know enjoys
reading the diary page every month. She's a lovely young lady who
never fails to keep in touch with myself and Albins. I wish her every
happiness as ever.
As President of
the World Association, I look forward to inviting Funeral Directors
from England and all over the world to our Convention in London, to be
held in The Docklands 2 - 4 June 2006.
That’s all for
now, take care and enjoy the Summer.
More news next
time.

PS
Memorial Garden
service on 7th December – all welcome.
Look out for my
new book ‘Strong Shoulders’ out in the shops in December.
Also will be a
paperback version of Final Departures full of weird and wonderful
tales out next month.
