July 2006

Barry's News Page

Hello again,

Scorching July – the unwatered grass bleached by the sun. Every drop of water preserved for the plants, yet the garden looks wonderful as it reaches the height of its summer season. The doves are breeding and the fish are breeding and all in the garden is well. One of the doves newly born, has a spiky hair cut like a parakeet and has been nicknamed ‘Elvis’

The new horses will shortly arrive on the farm, although it will be a number of years before they are ready for work. Our horseman has agreed to give them our suggested names which go along with their pedigree names. They will be called Arthur, Stanley, Alfred & Frederick

The new fleet of cars has been with us for a month now and are bedding in nicely. They look glorious as they leave the funeral home each morning. Many thanks to Paul Wilcox of Wilcox Limousines for the fantastic job he has done on them. As a company, they are indeed to be recommended.

I am pleased to announce that around 31st December, we are expecting a new grandchild, which is exciting for everyone, especially Jon & Jane, so we will be looking forward to five grandchildren overall.

We have just come to the end of our fund raising drive for The Evelina Children’s Charity and we will shortly be pushing with a new committee for much needed funds for future growth of this wonderful children’s hospital.

We are pleased to announce the opening of the new shop in Sidcup, which will open officially on 26th August. All the work on the shop has been done by my two sons and Jonathan Fletcher and I will be very excited to see just what they have done, but I know it will be great.

That’s all for now.

Cheerio
