July 2007

Barry's News Page

It’s now mid-July and no sign of the sunshine! – The rain is good for the garden though, so they say

We continue sadly, to perform our duties in returning our servicemen killed in action abroad. The sadness of the return of each soldier, never fails to touch us all.

It is planned that I will be visiting both Afghanistan and Iraq towards the end of August, all being well.

David our Embalmer, a much talented young man, continues to receive students from abroad for training and I have to thank him for the quality of care he shows to each repatriated soldier. I know that his efforts and skill make a huge difference to everybody.

Any day now we will be expecting our new limousine (much needed now).

On 29th September, we’re holding our party for the old people of Bermondsey. It should be great fun with a ‘Max Miller’, a ‘George Formby’ and a ‘Joan Regan’ – lots of songs, lots of fun and lots of food & drink. The party will be sponsored by myself, my lovely friend John Donovan and the Southwark News.

Enjoy your summer!

Speak to you again in August

Best wishes
