I’m writing you from my office overlooking The Memorial Garden and it’s a beautiful early summer’s day. The garden is in full bloom – green and rich. The trees are heavily laden with leaves matching the colour of the grass – almost perfect!

It’s at times like this that you realise all that is, is forever – We live our lives in a full circle, always returning to the same spot.

Still, enough of the romancing – I’ll be writing poems next!

Strangely, only a week ago it was cold, wet, windy and miserable. A bit like mid-November. (Forget what I said about the circle of life – we don’t know if we are in winter or summer now from day to day do we?)

Simon is busily preparing for his first meeting with FIAT/IFTA as the UK Representative and I will be joining him for that one in Ireland this coming weekend. This will be closely followed by our National Exhibition which will be attended by most Funeral Directors in the UK.

It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my great friend ‘Gino’ – Gianangelo Grandi, who sadly passed away in Italy aged just 65 yrs. We all knew Gino here for over 20 years. He has been a great friend of Albins and helped us introduce some Italian coffins here, which to this day are admired and are of the highest quality. Our thoughts and prayers go with his family.

I will shortly be preparing for my holiday after the exhibition, but before I leave we will all be attending the wedding of Joanna, our receptionist here for well over 10 years. We wish her and her new husband Tony every happiness for the future. So it’s time for us to get The Queen Mother’s limousine out of moth balls, put on a white ribbon and hope that Joanna & Tony have a wonderful day!

Bye until next month!

Take care & best wishes
