For most people, this time of year has a sad syndrome to it with the dark nights and winter approaching. For me, late Autumn is a beautiful time of year - the beautiful colours, the weather still not too cold, leaves falling in circles, gliding down and resembling the paper aircraft we all made in our school days.

The cleaning of leaves for the boys is an endless job, but one which they go about with good spirits and no complaints. That’s how much the garden means to all of us – not just me.

As all around us effectively dies during the winter but it’s wonderful to know that it will be followed by Spring and the hope of new life. For me, the service, the approaching of Christmas and Christmas itself is a beautiful time

We are now one month away from our Christmas Memorial Service and the weekly meetings and rehearsals with all the staff have begun.

Stars are now available in reception and each of our branches will have stars available for everybody to write their messages on and then they will be placed on the Christmas tree during the garden service.

I hope to see you all at the Memorial Garden Service on 5th December, starting at 7pm. It is a lovely evening of remembrance and all are welcome. I will post more about the service a week or so before the day.

We are very pleased to welcome into the Parish our new Parish Priest Fr. Mark at St. Mary’s Church, Rotherhithe and we all wish him well for the future.

More soon…

Best wishes as ever
