We have just come to the end of our summer programme of work, finalising the pond and waterfall in the Memorial Garden.

All of the plans are now complete for the Memorial Service, which takes place on December 7th starting at 7pm sharp. Everybody has been booked, the music chosen and we will have our usual hospitality with a hot drink and roasted chestnuts upon arrival. There will be plenty of seating and refreshments afterward with mince pies and mulled wine.

All are welcome.

We are pleased to say that the Mayor has been true to his word when he confirmed to us that they would not prosecute funeral vehicles in bus lanes.

We have also received kind and helpful support from the Southwark Parking Services, who do not issue tickets to funeral vehicles.

My new book Strong Shoulders is only a month away from publication now. I hope you will buy it and read it. I think this will be the last book I will write and finishes all that I wanted to say.

It will be published by Hodder & Stoughton Limited, Tel 020 7873 6000 and will be available from bookshops or online at www.Amazon.co.uk. You will also be able to obtain copies from us here at Albins
.

I will personally be opening the Memorial Garden and private chapels of rest on Christmas morning from 10am – 12pm.

The Christmas tree arrives for the garden during the first week of December and I hope it will be enjoyed by all the local community.

Our two horses Fred & George were seven years old last month and we have two new arrivals in our dove cote.

So in short, all at Albins is well.

Until next time

Best wishes as ever
