BARRY'S DIARY

 NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2008

Hi Everyone!

Christmas approaches and another Memorial Garden Service looms in front of us.

The last leaves from the trees are beginning to fall and I know my staff will be pleased to see the back of them. In some ways, this is my favourite time of the year as the colours in our garden change.

Sadly we continue to bring home fallen soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan and we are assisting the MOD with three repatriations at the moment of two Marines and one Ghurkha. Our thoughts and prayers as ever are with them and their families, especially at this time of the year as we approach Christmas. We always dwell on the thoughts of those who have vacant chairs this year.

Christmas, the happiest of times also brings such sadness, but I always reflect that the sadness comes only because of the love we have shared – one is hand in hand with the other and it is the price we must pay for the loving.

Our service, which will be held on Wednesday 3rd December, will begin at 7pm and all are welcome. The gates open at 6pm so be there early and dress warmly! It should be a fabulous evening.

Everybody is preparing for the service and as you can imagine, it is one of our hardest working weeks of the year for which I would like to thank all the staff for their help and dedication as always.

I will personally be opening the garden between 10am – 12 on Christmas morning and there will be Carols playing to welcome you and our new bell in the beautiful bell tower, will chime in remembrance of all who rest in the garden.

As this will be the last time I will write this year, God Bless you all and bring you peace at your lowest moments and guide you with great strength and determination.

That’s all for now,

I wish you all a Peaceful Christmas and New Year on behalf of myself, my family and all my staff at Albins
