Barry's Diary

Hi Everybody

It’s early August and it looks like summer has finally arrived!

As I write, I am recovering from having had a kidney operation, the second part of which will take place in two weeks time. I also had a nasty accident the evening before my operation, when I was helping to move a safe in the office and it dropped on my finger, crushing it rather badly resulting in my having to have 24 stitches. - Slowly but surely I’m improving!

I have been asked to give a talk in October at an NSPCC Charity event, which I am looking forward to.

Please remember to make a note of our OAP’s party on 29th September – there will be lots of food, drink and celebrations as it’s the 20th Anniversary of The Southwark News who will be joining Albins and John Donovan’s family to provide a big bash for our OAP’s.

I am pleased to announce a new arrival, weighing in at half a pound – yes our doves have finally given birth again to a beautiful white dove chick.

The fish in the pond continue to increase and everything in the garden is ‘rosy’.

There’s not much else to report at this time of the year but I look forward to speaking to you again in September.

Enjoy your summer!

Best wishes
