Barry's News Page

Just a little update, as usual, on what’s been going on over the last month.  I am very proud to announce I am expecting two new grandchildren at the beginning of September to my younger son Jon and his wife Jane and another around November to my elder son Simon and his wife Michelle so a very exciting time coming up

We are reaching many barriers in the development of our new fleet.  Having invested a great deal of money in the development of the vehicles, we are going to suspend further development for the time being.  This would seem to be the sensible way forward and we will be able to finish off at a least a hearse and a car in a few years time.  In the meantime we will store the bodies, engines etc for future development.  In the interim I am looking at a possible new fleet for next year and we are considering having the first of the new Daimler Limousines that will be available next June.  So we will see.

The Garden continues to develop and we are halfway through a full water feature that will offer beauty and serenity.  We will be extending our mortuary quite extensively in August and plans are underway for that.

Our company Kenyon Christopher Henley have just signed a contract with Kenyon Emergency Services in America.  This gives us so much more strength and versatility.   We have also just been deployed again to Iraq for the return of a dead soldier and Christopher has just returned from working with the Tsunami disaster.

I continue my campaign concerning bus lanes and respect for the dead.  It would not harm if you would all be kind enough to write to the Mayor to support our case.  So come on put pen to paper straight away or e-mail Valerie Shawcross on Valerie.Shawcross@london.gov.uk.

I have just finished TV interviews for a documentary for BBC4 in about 6 weeks, I think it is called Changing Times or something like that, looking at our changing attitudes towards death.  A good programme I think.

Everybody is having their Summer holidays at Albins and with three babies on the way re Simon, Jon and Greg this year and Neil and Dave both getting married in December (not to each other) it is very exciting.

That’s all for now, take care and enjoy the Summer.

More news next time.

PS

Memorial Garden service on 7th December – all welcome.

Look out for my new book ‘Strong Shoulders’ out in the shops in December.

Also will be a paperback version of Final Departures full of weird and wonderful tales out next month.
